International Women’s Day and Who Inspires Me

Today marks International Women’s Day, a great reason to whip out your #GirlPower and commemorate the movement for women’s rights.

In honour of International Women’s Day, I have done a little round up of the women that inspire me in my social life, work life and are all round wonderful bundles of joy.

My Mum, she listens to my moan and talk non-stop about stuff that probably is totally irrelevant to her, but she still listens. That’s an important factor of being a Mum, sometimes not even responding but just listening. She’s very hard working and certainly has a eye for perfection which is exactly where I get it from. I don’t have many talents and never have growing up, but the one thing I certainly have is organisation. I totally owe that to my Mum for teaching me how to be as crazy as her, for it has lead me into wanting a career that relies on my organisation to help others. Cheers Mum! Also, nobody plumps my pillows and makes my weatabix like my Mum. #ledge

My BFF, Charlotte is my life accompanist. She comes with me everywhere (hence why she’s in near enough every photo from this point onwards). We met when we were 4 years old and 17 years of friendship has lead us to being inseparable. She inspires me with her kindness and her ability to be good at everything. I just don’t know how she does it. Her encouragement means a lot because we bounce of each other and make sure we both take the opportunities in life that will eventually get us somewhere big one day.

My blogging wife Elana is a dream to manage. I love working with people who have a passion for what they are doing and she makes management a walk in the park. She is a tough cookie and I aspire to have the strength she has. She has had a tough time over the last few years and I am so proud and inspired of her ability to come out the other side with a smile on her face.

My ‘Online Friends’ Tish & Ellie, who I met when we were 14 on Twitter. All these years later University brought us together and I have never been more thankful. It is a great feeling having two friends who are just like you and your best friend. We don’t see each other all the time but when we catch up, nothing changes. They inspire me with their hard work and ability to make a table full of food the cutest thing I have ever seen. Hostesses of the mostesses.

My work wives, Monika and Ellis I would be lost without. They make my job worthwhile and fun with their incredible personalities. I have never had friends at work who I’d class as being my ‘best friends’ because so many come and go but these two have stuck. We all want the best for each other and continue to encourage opportunities to excel ourselves. I’m lucky to have these two supporting me in everything I do and for Monika for drumming in “stand your own round” into my head.

Who in your life inspires you?

Happy International Women’s Day to all of the lovely women x
