I’ve never really been a podcast kinda gal, I always thought they were a bit weird and for geeks. It is only in the past year that I have started to appreciate them more and take the time to switch my music off and put a podcast on.
I have found myself getting my weekly dose of my favourites and being able to relax whilst listening to them. I see it as being like having some friends over for a chat or earwigging someone else’s conversation (come on we all know you do it too). It is like a YouTube video except you don’t have to sit down and be fixated on the screen for an hour, you can go for a walk or tidy your room. Ah the wonder of podcasts.
Here are 4 that are my current favourites and that I am loving…
Keeping it Candid. I love the fact that Sophie and Millie talk about controversial topics because it really puts a twist on a traditional women’s podcast. The girls always come out on top with their conversations and make you want to join in the chit chat.
Happy Place. Fearne Cotton has always been one of my inspirations so obviously this podcast was going to be a must-listen. The podcast is a kind-of spin off from her books, but focuses on her talking to some great people about what happiness means to them. It is such an insightful podcast and I especially loved the episodes that featured Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black and Paloma Faith.
Happy Mum, Happy Baby. Yes, I am fully aware that I am not a Mum nor do I have a baby. The Giovanna love lives on throughout podcasts now (sorry!). Seeing the way Gi is with her kids instantly made me think ‘I want to be a Mum like that in the future‘ so I thought the podcast would be a good listen, especially as she was speaking with some of my favourites in the media industry like Emma Willis, Frankie Bridge, Rochelle Humes, Fearne Cotton, Fleur De Force and of course her husband Tom. The podcast is a great one for first time Mum’s or for those who want to hear what it is like for some of their faves to have kids and listen to their experiences.
At Home With. I’m a big fan of Lily and Anna and their blogging/YouTube journeys, so soon as I saw they were recoding a lifestyle podcast I knew it was going to be great. I listened to the whole series whilst I was sunning myself around the pool I’m Majorca and it certainly did not disappoint. My favourite episodes were when they interviewed Giovanna, Kate and Zoe. Surprisingly, I found myself also loving interviews with people I hadn’t heard of before such as Lisa Eldridge and Jo Elvin. I cannot wait for a series 2!
What are your favourite podcasts I should be listening too?
